Spiritual Stock-take

Lunesdale Home & Garden on Kirkby Lonsdale's Main Street, as the name suggests amply caters for the ironmongery and garden supply needs of the local populace. However, the impressively beamed interior of the former 16th century Wheatsheaf Inn is also home to a wandering spirit whose presence is detected on the ground floor...

The story accounting for this particular haunting runs that after the death of his wife in the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, a local gent carrying out some work to the building's roof slipped and tragically feel onto some railings displayed outside the shop for scrap purchase. Impaled, he died instantly, and was temporarily laid out on the shop's current main counter, and perhaps goes some way to explain why his spirit is still felt on the premises...
