More Masham Manifestations

Whether related to the disturbed souls excavated from the Lost Cemetery, the two ghostly regulars seen in the Bay Horse, Masham are just a stone’s throw from the Little Market Place and the Bruce Arms, the scene of the most aggravated hauntings after the discovery of the Anglo-Scandanivian burial ground in 1985. In fact the Bay Horses’s ground floor phantom enjoys nothing more than to wander through the bar and sit in the front window, the wraith of an old man who contemplates the world going by.

The Bay Horse, Silver Street, Masham, North Yorkshire

The other Bay Horse ghost is more often heard than seen and is thought to be a small boy who plays upstairs. Both spirits seem to be good natured, and of long standing, and in no way detract from the friendly atmosphere of the Bay Horse.
